I began my teaching career in Miami, where I obtained my bachelor’s degree in sports management with a minor in business. After returning to Houston in 2010, I worked at Wildcat Golf Club and Matt Swanson’s School of Golf. I have acquired Jim Hardy’s Level One certification and is in the process of attaining his PGA certification.
Miguel is dedicated to helping his golf students improve their swing through visual, verbal and kinesthetic teaching methods. His impressive lists of mentors includes the likes of Golf Digest’s top instructors, Jim Hardy, Jim Murphy and Stan Utley. As a Plane Truth certified instructor, Miguel can help every student lower his or her scores by producing a correct repetitive impact and ball flight
Lessons are conducted rain or shine all year round because here at topgolf we have fans and heaters to use depending on the weather. Lessons can be conducted as late as 8pm and on the weekends as well. We use Video analysis as a tool for you to see where we can improve and compare you to a professional golfer so can see how things may similar or different.
I knew by time I left for college that I wanted to stay in the golf industry. I Knew during College that i wanted to be an instructor and have dedicated my time and efforts to being the best Instructor. I have saught the menorhsip of many top instructors around country. My goal in golf is not make your swing look pretty but affect your ball flight so that is correct and repetative.
I enjoy what I do every single day, and can honestly say that I have the best job especially working with such a great growing company like topgolf. I teach because I understand the struggles of learning as I started from ground zero and I understand what is necessary to become betteer. I wake up and do what I love everyday and would love to help you enjoy a game that I love very much!
Gives clear direction and instructions.
Before I can tell you the kind of influence Top Golf Instructor, Miguel Luna, has had on my son I must give a background on my son. Andreas has always been a friendly, kind-hearted kid that never met a stranger! He will be the first to help someone in need and show compassion for their situation. Andreas started Kindergarten in 2014, while he struggled in certain areas he thoroughly enjoyed attending and being with his teacher and classmates daily. He only missed 1 day of school his kindergarten year. Even though he struggled through the year his teacher's sensitivity to his struggles encouraged Andreas to continue with his hard work. The following year in 1st grade it became a very different experience for Andreas. We began fighting the school district to have him tested, though the process would take quite some time. Andreas, our social bug who loved school quickly changed. He would get physically ill every morning before school, he no longer spoke with excitement to see his friends the following day, and he no longer showed any kind of confidence in himself. Desperate, we began the process to have him privately tested. Andreas was diagnosed with Dyslexia. At the same time we received this information we were warned that the school district rarely accepts a diagnosis from private testing and it was likely we would still have to wait for the school district to test him. Thankfully it was not long after that we received notification that he would be tested. January 2016 he was tested by Katy ISD and the same results were found! He began receiving Dyslexia accommodations and almost immediately we began to see a difference! As his parents we wanted to also continue to build his confidence outside of the classroom. After attending a birthday party at Top Golf Andreas showed an interest in golf. We quickly looked into supporting his interest and found out that he could attend Jr. lessons. Upon the first meeting of Coach Miguel, Andreas bonded with him immediately. Miguel always asks Andreas about his day, his week, whatever he has going on and he makes it a priority to listen and know what's going on in Andreas' life. One of the highlights of Andreas' birthday last year was that Coach called him to wish him a happy birthday and followed that up with a gift the next week at practice. When instructing Andreas, Miguel always gets down on Andreas' level, speaks with respect and a smile! Whether it's the first time Miguel shows Andreas something or the fiftieth time he never shows frustration but continued excitement to teach his student. Miguel's excitement on how well Andreas does with golf inspires Andreas to continue his dedication and love of the sport. Miguel has become more than a golf instructor, he is a mentor to Andreas. We are grateful that Miguel continues to inspire Andreas. We have definitely noticed a huge difference in Andreas' confidence especially when he is telling family and friends about golf & Coach Miguel!
1 Thank you for my lesson with you on my driver. I have been playing golf for 2 years and 3 months now. I took a lesson at the beginning of this process and was totally disappointed with the instructor. As I was new to golf, I assumed this was representative of all instructors. As a result, I needed but did not take lessens since and have had to learn on my own. I was finally convinced to try again. Fortunately for me, I hooked up with you for my next lesson some 2+ years later. You have a great delivery and non-aggressive personality while providing succinct recommendations for improvement. We were together for only 30 minutes and it has made a significant improvement in my game. I took your observations for my driver over to my irons and I have never hit either better than I am right now. Thanks for the instructions and more importantly for you coaching and teaching techniques. I will definitely recommend you to others.
