Jake Smo Golf Lessons
About
Golf has taken my life by storm since the age of 12. I would wake up before the sun to get on the course, and I would always be the last one leaving. I have always been passionate about the game. I strive to be the best team player by pushing and encouraging my teammates, students and friends. My main goal is to make sure my students are having fun.
6th ranked of the NCGA Tour of Northern California
Played for Folsom Lake College
Currently Employed at Brookhollow Golf Club in Dallas, Tx as a full time Caddie. I love my job, and the connections I have made- and have been encouraged to reach out and share my skills and passion with others.
I have been giving golf instruction at junior golf camps in Northern California for the past 3 summers. I love helping kids enjoy the game.
I love helping people get better and putting a smile on their face. I was caddieing in Naples, FL back in 2018 and the member I was caddieing for was a 4 handicap. First time I ever caddied for him and he shot a 69. It was the best feeling knowing I helped him shoot his best round. I am a very positive person and will help my students keep their chin up and not be to hard on themselves. My goal is to make sure you are having fun.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I love to learn about my student and get an understanding of their golf background. I am an easy going golf instructor. I am a feel player as well as a feel coach. I stick to the simple fundamentals of the game. And can coach you on the mental aspect of the game as well. If you don't like the way I am teaching you something then I will figure out another way to teach it. Always want to keep my player feeling comfortable and most importantly having fun.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I grew up playing with an amazing instructor Jj Abraham. He taught me so much about the game without even realizing it. When I was 13 years old I was a 8 handicap. I started playing the game when I was 12 years old. After one month of Jj giving me lessons I was a scratch golfer. I have been a caddie for two years now and coach almost every player I caddie for.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I will charge depending on what we are working on. Typically 50$ An hour but if it's a long lesson I will be flexible.
How did you get started teaching?
I found out I loved teaching so much when I was caddieing. I would teach the players without even realizing. So I figured hey why not make a living doing what I love.
