My journey into golf began at a young age with lessons from the local course pro. It was through that influence and constant encouragement that I gained a passion for golf.
My mission statement is to further the golfer's enjoyment of the game through sound instruction personalized to each individual's abilities no matter the physical limitations or time constraints. Enjoyable golf is possible for any individual of any age with a swing and mindset that complement them instead of working against them. As such while certain core fundamentals remain the same each golfer must be evaluated on a case by case basis and the swing as a whole adapted to match the golfer and not the opposite.
Wether it's through a practice plan structured personaly for the individual or even a one off lesson. To a junior who's just discovered this amazing game or a senior still looking for that personal best. I will do everything in my ability to provide the knowledge necessary to enjoy golf to its fullest for each individual player I meet.
Golf in any form is a passion of mine so getting to do the job alone is rewarding. The student realizing that they're effort is paying off and getting excited to get out on the course would have to be one of my favorites though. Building someone's golf game or rebuilding it can be a very difficult process but seeing the pieces come together gives an awesome feeling.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first step is to talk with the student and determine their goals and where they currently stand in relation to those goals. After going through some warmup shots I like to switch to some skills practice for the experienced player to gain an understanding for their thought process and how their swing may change under different circumstances. For the less experienced player the lesson will focus on introducing some core concepts and building some confidence around the golf ball. From that point the lesson will progress based on the players needs.

My rates are locked in at $20 for a 30 minute lesson and $30 for an hour lesson per individual.
How did you get started teaching?
My teaching began during college when I apprenticed under my instructor and helped with junior clinics in my area. I continued to enjoy the process of golf instruction and moved forward with working on my own.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've given lessons to individuals as young as 8 and 76 at the oldest. I've worked with entire school teams with aspiring athletes, and players with handicaps that I couldn't imagine and loved helping all of them. Golf is truly an amazing sport in that anyone can learn to enjoy the game no matter the handicap.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If golf were easy everyone would do it and it wouldn't pay as much. Find a coach you enjoy going to and can trust with helping you improve. Typically it's not an instant long term turnaround to change a swing it takes time and effort and if you don't believe what you're doing is going to work and commit to it then it won't.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
"Where am I in my golf game and where do I HONESTLY want to get to." Is the biggest one for me. A lot of people say they want to get to the upper tier of golf (and many other activities as well) but many of them don't want to put in the effort required or don't know where to start. That's where a good coach comes in and points them in the proper direction to get to that goal.
