About

The greatest feeling is to hear your student say "I shot my best round ever today". My passion for golf and teaching the game keeps me continuing to find ways improve myself as an instructor and my students as players.

I am a class "A" PGA Professional with 12 years of experience teaching beginners, intermediate, and advanced players solid fundamentals and techniques of golf. Each person has a unique set of skills and the lesson plans I create are specific to each individuals goals and needs.

Currently, I am getting an additional certification in teaching to enhance my skill set even further. If you feel you need to find an instructior that knows the golf swing, is a good communicator, and will help you reach your goals, I would love to get started with you.

I took the get ready golf class from Mike last year. He is a great instructor. I felt I was able to progress quickly and he helped me improve my swing. I would highly recommend Him for golf lessons.

Took a lesson from Mike and enjoyed the help. Mike was able to see my problem quickly and offered several tips for helping my game. Great teacher well worth the time and cost of a lesson.

During an event Mike offered to show me how to hold my club to get more distance. The little bit he showed me has improved my game already. That is if I can do what he told me to do. Im practicing. Mike is a great teacher.

Mike fitted me with a set of irons the end of last year. He is very talented at all aspects of golf. I am hitting these irons almost two clubs different than my previous clubs. Thats amazing to me since I have been fitted before and have never experienced that much improvement.

    Frequently asked questions

First step with a new student is a brief interview to discuss the students goals. We will determine a number of factors that will help us plan for success. We will then start our lessons based on the students needs.

In the 12 years I have been a golf professional, I have learned from some of the best instructors in the business. Below is a list of my experience and training that has given me the skills to be a successful golf instructor.

*Class "A" PGA of America golf professional

*Valedictorian of my graduating class at the Professional Golfers Career College with a business degree in golf management with an empasis on techniques of teaching.

*I have conducted more lessons for more than 2,000 individuals including: ladies, men, seniors, juniors, beginners, advanced, special needs, private clinics, and large group clinics.

I have a standard rate of $75 per hour for adults or $40 for a half hour. I give discounts for a series of lessons.

My Junior Rate is $30 per 30 minute session.

I also offer clinic and group rates based on number of individuals.

My inspiration for teaching the game came from the first professionals who helped me learn the game. Teaching quickly became a passion that I now am priveleged to be able to do for a living.

I have worked with every type of student from beginner to very accomplished and everything between. I have also worked with a student with only one arm and a few others with autism. It would be great to gain more experience with disabled individuals.

I enjoy all lessons. Each lesson is like playing a different golf course; different challenges and fun in different ways.

The best thing you can do is hire someone you are comfortable with and who you have an easy time communicating with. There are many great instructors and each will have differences in their approach. Most good instructors have the knowledge to help you reach your goal; make sure you enjoy the process.

Really know what your goals are and be honest with yourself about how hard  you will work to acheive those goals. It doesn't matter if you want to be a tour pro or just be able to enjoy the game more with your spouce. Make sure you go into the process with a clear idea of what you want out of it.
