My name is Jaden Trujillo. I played baseball at Layton High School and on several traveling club teams. I threw 86-89 MPH in high school. I was a First Team All-State player and the Region 1 MVP in 2013. I went 6-0 from the mound my senior year and had 4 saves. Layton High took second in state my senior year and lost to Bingham in the championship game. I threw a 3-hitter to get us to that championship game against Riveton in 2013. I work with all ages. I will help you or your son develop great off-speed pitches, location skills and increase your velocity.

I played basketball on several travel teams as well as my high school team at Layton High. I was a first-team all state/all region honorable mention. My coaching style comes from one of my mentors, Brad Barton. He increased my confidence in my ball handling, shot and overall basketball IQ. He passed away recently and I want to carry his legend with me.

I love seeing individuals improve their game. It is amazing to see what a little bit of film work, proper coaching and analysis will do to your game.

I really believe in working hard and when I am able to be the means of someone working harder, I get really excited and animated.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Baseball

Get to know the student, basic warm up with exercise bands to stretch and warm up arm. Stretches to get loose. Warm up with some five pound weights. Throw while increasing distance and velocity slowly. Begin pitching by throwing about 80% velocity and working on basic off-speed pitches and location. Followed up by increacsing velocity and working in more off-speed pitches. Perform a series of innings in our bullpen. Cool down run to finish. (Subject to change based on lessons and the student)

Basketball

This really depends on the needs of the student. I have a series of strength and speed training for a big man position as well a guards and forwards. I have an awesome ball handling series with great two-ball ball handlings drills.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Baseball

I have been trained personally by former MLB pitchers. I have adopted a few strategies from my trainers and have polished off what I feel is the best a student can get. I have gone through physical therapy for proper treatment of arms after pitching (***disclaimer I am not a certified doctor or therapist).

Basketball

My main mentor in basketball was Brad Barton. He has since passed on in this life. He played and coached at the collegiate level. His mentality and training was very strategic with high empahsis in ball handling, agility, shooting and basketball IQ. My training is very similar to his.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

My pricing system is usually an hourly rate per session. It is dependent upon the demand of the student and/or parent. I would love to discuss this over the phone or in person.

How did you get started teaching?

I primarily love basketball and baseball. I have played it all my life. In a perfect world I would continue playing it but I live vicarioulsy through those I train and teach. I love being a mentor and a leader along with coaching. I began instructing my little brothers who are in high school and junior high and seeing them improve on a daily and weekly basis is amazing to be a part of.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with all ages. I have cousins that range from 5-20 years of age. You can never start to young in my opinion.
