Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Usually start out with an introduction to the horses go over safety around horses and animals as far asProgression of riding that depends on the riders some riders move faster than others I try not to be pushy because if you're scared or afraid we're not having fun
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been western riding participating in rodeo clubs and working cattle my daughter participates in Utah high school rodeo association
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Around 30$ an hour
How did you get started teaching?
Some church friends asked if I did lessons I had help people at that point but never truly done lessons and it's just grown from there
What types of students have you worked with?
All ages from 2 years and up to 50 years I also work with my special needs grandson
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for a teacher that constantly pushes you beyond your comfort level so that you continue to grow I have been riding for 41 years and I am still learning every day
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I think it's good to know how committed you are and what kind of riding experience You are looking for if you just want to be able to say you've sat on a horse and rode that's OK. If you're looking for the true equestrian experience there is lots of effort needed
