About
Hi there! I’m Horse Enthusiast, Equine Therapist contracted with the Salt Lake City Veteran Affairs, Horse Instructor and HorseTrainer, Lisa Finnell, and I am located in the Sandy, Utah area. Im originally from the East Coast and at age 16 moved to the Midwest. I transferred here to Utah and fell in love with the mountains! My horses and I have extensively travelled the Sandy, Alpine, American Fork, Cedar Hills, Provo and Spanish fork mountain areas. I am extremely passionate and have been dedicated to horses my entire life. I have been riding since the age of 2 and I am an accomplished horsewoman with a reputation for hard work ethic for all of my teams of horses and riders. Not only have I maintained a 32 year successful career in Property Management as a CPM, I have volunteered over 25 years of my life as a coach, trainer and mentor of all age horses and riders of all disciplines. I have held an elected officer position on the board of directors for 15 years at a prominent Equestrian club in NE. The satisfaction I gain as a coach and mentor is seeing the best in every horse, every rider in every situation. I have not only held an officer position but have been an extremely active participant in competition in all disciplines. I have successfully competed in over 55 shows per summer for 15 years and have extensive knowledge of operations, management, bylaws, 4H, judging, horsemanship, showmanship, equitation, endurance trail, ranch, roping, English, barrels, poles, speed events, play days, 5D barrels, breeding, training, bareback, pleasure, point systems, skijoring, equine therapy, mindful awareness, natural horsemanship and packing out large game. I am excited for the opportunity to share my skills. I currently have five therapeutic lesson horses that are all unique. I really look forward to meeting you and learning your goals with horses!! I love to see how quick a horse and rider connect and accomplish so much over a short period of time! My true passion and so grateful to share in anyone’s journey with these healing and magnificent beings:))))
Thank you for your time!

How did you get started teaching?
My passion of horses stemmed from the time I was born however, I had to work in order to have my own horse so when I got older, I worked for a well known trainer and owner of 85 horses. He taught me everything he knew about horses. I purchased my first horse at the age of 16. My horse was 2 years old when I purchased him and learned how to train him on the ground and in the saddle. I got into showing all disciplines and 4h soon after that and have shared my horses and my skills to anyone else with the passion. I am also an Equine Therapist for the VA.
