About
I have been teaching voice, violin, and piano for 32 years. I have gone to Idaho State University as a music major, voice major, violin minor.
I am a very thorough teacher on technique, etudes, theory work, scales and arpegios, ear training and proper posture.
For violin I teach Suzuki method to level four then I go off in Barbara Barber method after that.
Voice is where I am certified to teach Singing In Suzuki Style. I can teach young voices in a group session.
I teach Faber method in piano. But I love to introduce my students to fun, interesting songs to learn to help them to keep loving to learn new things with the piano. I love to teach beginner to late intermediate or early advanced.
I am always striving to teach with the latest methods so you won't be disappointed with me. Thank you!
I enjoy watching my students progress to a higher level and enjoy their instruments. I try my best to cater my lessons to their needs and what exactly the student wants to learn.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Not all students learn the same. So I would get familiar with their learning style. Some are fast learners, some are slower. There are self motivated kids while others need a lot more explanations. I have been teaching all age styles for over 32 years now and really enjoy it.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been to Idaho State University as a music major, voice major and violin minor. I also have been taking continued education with qualified music teachers. I also teach piano and continue to enjoy it.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pay a flat rate at the beginning of the month. Missing a lesson does not lower the tuition. You are paying for the time slot and not the number of lessons taught to the student.
How did you get started teaching?
My dad was a music teacher in the public school system. I learned a lot from him as well as being a music student in Idaho State University.
What types of students have you worked with?
From age 9 to 85
