Inquiries can contact me at [email protected] or via text/call at 571-969-8407. My name is Charlotte Williams and I have been teaching for over 13 years. I started teaching at a lesson barn in Lorton and now am an independent instructor. I love sharing my passion for both the sport and the animals with others. I primarily focus on balanced riding and creating a solid foundation for the rider to take on to any dispcipline of their choosing. I work with riders of all ages and abilities. Whether you are just looking to have a good time or have show goals. No matter the goals, I will work with you to help you achieve your goals. I primarily focus on eventing and jumpers but I have done hunters in the past as well.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical process is to introduce myself and give a tour of the facility. We then go through what a normal routine for a lesson would be. I evaluate the experience level of the individual as I go in addition to asking what experience the rider has. I strive to be as friendly and open as possible.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I grew up riding at a lesson barn in Lorton where I was taught how to teach. I have learned from several different trainers of all disciplines. I firmly believe there is always something to learn and love to see other people's perspective.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard pricing is $60 for a one hour private with several lesson packages available to include a 5 lesson package for $275 or a 10 lesson package for $500. Pricing is all up to date on the Facebook page.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching at the lesson barn I grew up riding at. I was always passionate about helping others and teaching the younger kids how to ride. I love sharing my passion with any and everyone.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students who have big show goals and helped them to progress through the levels. I have taught first time riders who have never even sat on a horse before. I have taught adults who have taken a break from riding and are just getting back in the saddle. I have worked with a wide range of students and I am always happy to share the wealth with anyone who is willing to learn.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Pick someone that you get along with personality wise. But also someone who cares about you and will do what it takes to help you reach your goal.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Always ask what your goals are. What do you want out of your riding. You can always change your goals but knowing what you want to do can help you pick the right instructor to get you where you want to go.
