About
Coach J's sports camps are the best around. I focus on not only building athletic skills but also the mental side of sports. Teamwork, character, discipline, hard work, responsibility, integiry are some of my core principles I like to teach. Many athletic abilities transfer over to different sports so I like teaching the fundamentals of athletic movements and skills that can be used in any sport your child wants to pursue. For more advanced lessons we will focus on improving skills needed for that specific sport. I would be happy to share more with you over the phone to discuss your child's specific wants/needs.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to start off with basic athletic skills and movements to see where the student is at. Sports are a building process. You have to have a foundation of skills before adding on more advanced abilities.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I not only attended top tier sports camps when I was growing up but also coached at them in my free time during high school and college. I then worked professionally as a coach for private sports academies such as Ozzie Smith, the NBA's Miami Heat, and many others. I was also a substitute teacher and high school basketball coach before getting my MBA in Sport Management.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing varies depending on private lessons vs group lessons.
How did you get started teaching?
I have always enjoyed working with kids even when I was a kid! I always mentored incoming student athletes and now that I have two children of my own I work with them and their friends to help improve their athletic skills and build character on and off the field.
What types of students have you worked with?
All types, beginner to advanced.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
"Ability may get you to the top, but it takes character to keep you there." ~ John Wooden
