Erin is awesome at tailoring her explanations to how I learn. She’s also great about helping me put all the individual pieces together along with giving me areas and patterns to work on between lessons. I love working with her.

Erin is a great trainer and cares about the horses and the riders. She is professional, patient, kind, dedicated and fair. She has a wealth of experience and has a great toolbox of ideas to try if a rider or horse does not understand a concept.

Training with Erin of Through Dressage is a continuous education on the intricacies of Classical Dressage. She explains the correct Dressage Aids required for each movement and provides continuous feedback on what actions are needed to correct or improve the picture. Training with Erin has increased my knowledge of, feel and connection with my horses both in and out of the saddle. I am constantly amazed that what seem like small tidbits of information she shares with me during my lessons, make a rather large impact on my riding. There is always more to learn when it comes to riding, and I look forward to continuing the journey.

Erin is kind but firm. Her teaching gives you focus and she doesnt just teach you what you need for your individual horse but what should be the response from any horse when given the proper ques. She sticks to the systematic training of the horse with positive reinforcement. It is always a pleasure to work with her

The empathic approach to rider and horse. Erin is a super teacher who understands horses and students. She adjusts her program according to your/your horses learning process. I would recommend Erin to anyone and I have recommended her to many already.

    Frequently asked questions

Initial evaluation consists of a conversation where the new student has a chance to explain riding goals and ask any questions and share areas of focus. I ask the rider to ride/warmup their horse and together we develop a training plan.

I am also a teacher of trauma informed gentle yoga as well as having decades of experience in animal rescue.

I charge $100 per lesson at my farm and charge a farm call to travel elsewhere which varies with the distance traveled.

Gerd Zuther of November Hill Farm, an early employer and mentor encouraged me to start teaching in 1993 and I never stopped!

Riders of all ages and levels, dressage, event, pleasure riders, and hunter/jumpers. My specialty is young horses but I love using the power of dressage to work with horses of all ages, breeds, and abilities.
