How did you get started teaching?
After my playing career ended, I was eager to start a family and begin coaching. I started my teaching/coaching career at Sahalee CC in 1991. I discovered I enjoy coaching the mental aspects of golf and performance and began doing seminars and coaching more mental game in 2001 when I started my company, Pure Impact.
What types of students have you worked with?
Pretty much ALL types..- I have worked with all ages and skill levels for the past 30 years.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was invited to play in the Inaugural USGA Senior Womens Open at Chicago Golf Club, in 2018. I had not competed for decades and was still recovering from a very bad back injury from a car accident in 2011 , but felt it was something I needed to do and I brought both my kids( ages 27 and 23 at the time) with me to caddie. I went with the intention to play with gratitude and joy and stay in the moment with my kids and it was an awesome experience . I was given a 3 year exemption so I will play again this year with boys there to caddy again just like the last 2 years. Amazing time with them!
