About
I have been teaching golf for the last 10 years through the body instead of the clubs. When your body knows what to do the swing becomes a lot easier and more powerful. When your body is able to move and stabilize like it is meant to, swinging a golf club becomes so much easier. I teach through the body so be ready to perform exercises and stretches in addition to just learning to swing the club.
I have played and taught professionally so I can teach you all aspects of the game.
Full swing, driving, ball-striking, putting, short game, sand shots, golf fitness, mindset, strategy, etc...
I started my PGA apprenticeship in 2007 and never got the chance to finish it.
My certifications include:
TPI level 2, CGFI, CSCS, TRX, PRI
I miss teaching and coaching as I am now employed full time in another field. I still enjoy working with golfers trying to improve their game. It is very satisfying seeing the joy on the faces of my students when they hit the "good" shots.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Are you setup for success? Your setup determines almost everything you can or cannot do in your swing. I will use video recording to show you how you are setup and how it is affecting your swing and how your body is affecting your setup. We will make adjustments to your setup for what your specific needs are.
We will also address what it is you trying to achieve. What are your golf goals? What do you want to be doing better, etc... ?
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Titleist Performance Institute Level 2 certified
10 years teaching and training experience
How did you get started teaching?
I have been a leader in sports my entire life. In HS and college I enjoyed helping others as much as I did myself. I majored in Kinesiology in San Diego and it was a natural progression when I was done playing competitively.
What types of students have you worked with?
All types and skill levels
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Helping a HS athlete with her driving last weekend (August 2018). Fixed her setup and take away to access more power, better ball flight and cured her slice. She was very excited.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure they understand what your goals are. They should be teaching to your ability level and capabilities. Not everyone can swing like a professional.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What do I want to accomplish? What is my "end game?" Am I committed to working on this when I am not in a lesson?
