All Work Is Play
About
I've loved football and endurance running most of my life. I played youth football, middle school and high school ball, jounior college, D3, and recreational ball until I was 30 years old. I now coach rec. leagues as a defensive coordinator but I love to work with individual position groups and fundamentals for both sides of the ball and special teams. I was active in marathon running until an injury derailed my running career, I want to help athletes avoid the mistakes I made. I have completed 30+ mile runs and finished a marathon at just over 3 hours (PR).

How did you get started teaching?
After playing for most of my life injuries prevent me from playing or training like I use to. I still have a love for it and wish I could still compete so training is the next best thing.
I love helping the youth and being the coach I wish I had as a kid. I feel proper coaching can help people get to the next level and reach their goals.
What types of students have you worked with?
Yourh, grade school, college, and adult.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Took over at defensive coordinator for a local rec league team. I've learned so much from the experience, unfortunately covid derailed our league and in now looking to training individuals or groups.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure they understand your goals before deciding to work with them. Get a game plan and ask your coaches or parents what they feel about the individuals plan before accepting. I great OL who played college may not be able to help you with speed training or playing safety. A running coach may not have the football IQ to help you translate free running to the football field.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What do they need currently to achieve their goals. What are their overall goals. How dedicated are they to the process. Understand individual weaknesses and be open about it. Lacking ability is no reason to not shoot for your goals lacking dedication and heart is. Are you doing this for you or someone else.
