Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I believe very strongly that a balanced rider has the most influence on the horses way of going.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I continually seek out instruction/education for myself in all aspects of horse ownership as well as my riding and teaching education
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes. Individual lessons are $75. Package prices get down as low as $50/day.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching because so many people were asking me for my help.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with 4-H, Pony Club, Beginners thru Grand Prix, including Instructors. I give clinics at other barns as well. All riders must have their own horse.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love going to the World Cup.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Take lessons from someone who has trained numerous riders and horses to the Grand Prix.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Be honest with yourself about what your goals and expectations are. If you are a recreational rider who just wants to hang out, or if you are a very competitive person who wants to imerse yourself in the sport, know that before deciding on who you will train with.
