Dons coaching and understanding of the recruiting process was the difference in our son getting a college scholarship.
Don genuinely cares about his students and really helps his Junior students navigate the tournament scheduling and recruiting process.

Dons knowledge and experience is very clear when taking a lesson. His ability to diagnose the problem and create a plan to fix the problem, really separates him from other teachers I have taken lessons from. Through a better understanding of what I need to do, and drills prescribed by Don, I have lowered my handicap 7 strokes.

I’ve had lessons from several people over the years. What sets Don apart is that he takes a tailored, individual approach. He gets to get to know each golfer and his/her existing swing and physical capabilities. Next, rather than simply teaching one way to swing a club or to putt, he draws on his vast experience to make a series of suggestions and sees which of them works the best. The result is great guidance, without requiring the processing of too much information, and far better ball striking, chipping or putting. And he’s a good guy, so each lesson is fun!

I’m a long time golfer, and I’ve taken a lot of golf lessons. My recent lesson with Don was the most comprehensive lesson I’ve ever had.
His understanding of the golf swing and his ability to communicate made it easy to apply my necessary changes.

Frequently asked questions

The first step with a new student is to diagnose where the student presently is, then put a action plan together based on where the student wants to go.

Everyone is different, so when looking for an Instructor, look for an Instructor that doesn’t teach everyone to do the same thing. This is what we call a “method “ Instructor.

Not everyone is built the same, or has the same athleticism, or flexibility. So find an Instructor that understands what you are capable of, and works with that.

Students should consider what they want from taking lessons. Am I just interested in getting good enough to not embarrass myself while playing with friends? Or, do I hope to get good enough to join a club, or even compete at some level.

If a student can clarify exactly what they are hoping to accomplish through the lessons, then the student and the Instructor are on the same page from the first lesson.
