About
Welcome to Live To Be Golf LLC. My name is Steve Sorenson and I have been competing, learning, and teaching this game for just about my entire life. I grew up in Wisconsin spending summer days with my older brother, Mike, playing and practicing golf from sun up to sun down - traveling the country playing in events and helping one another get better. For my entire life, I have been deeply involved in the game and have learned from names such as Jim Schuman and Larry Tiziani, both who have instructed PGA Tour Professionals. I played collegiate golf at Colorado State University and turned Professional in 2016.
Teaching golf is more of an art than anything. It requires one to see, interpret, and relay clear explanations to equip the student with knowledge of his or her swing. My goal is to not only coach you but to make you the coach of your own game. What I enjoy most about the process is the challenge of figuring out one's unique swing and how to make it work for he or she.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Once you receive my message here on lessons.com, message me back and we can work out a time to meet. I teach golf at several different ranges and am flexible with meeting places. Typically I teach at Moorland Golf Center in the winter and Goetz's Driving Range and Western Lakes Driving Range in the summer.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
i have been a thorough student and player of the game since I was 8 years old. I’ve taken lessons from leading instructors in the country, some of whom work with PGA Tour Professionals and have been fully submersed in learning, playing, and teaching the game. I played collegiate golf at a top 25 Division 1 school and played on mini tours in Florida for two years professionally. I have also worked as an Assistant Golf Professional at Kettle Hills Golf Course where I attended many teaching seminars.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I price my lessons by the hour and adamently believe unless you are getting a full hour lesson, the lesson is close to worthless. I charge $80 per 1 hour lesson and golf balls are included in this fee.
How did you get started teaching?
i got started teaching after I broke my left wrist in college and couldn’t play for two years. I began teaching friends and family and learned that teaching came very naturally. Once it healed, I played professionally and then started teaching again. I find it very rewarding to help the community around me get better at golf.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with people of all ages and skill, from kids just beginning the game to retired men and women and even top ranked juniors.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am very proud of all of my students as they are great people and are very good learners as well. I have a lot of fun with my students and am exited to meet more!
