How do I find the best classical piano lessons near me?
Find classical piano lessons from private instructors by looking through the listings here on the Lessons website. Local music schools sometimes offer virtual lessons online as well.
Prior to hiring a local piano instructor, you should always:
Secure a minimum of 3 lesson cost estimates to get a clear comparison.
Read their ratings on sites such as Lessons and Google.
Talk to students on their references list.
Collect a written agreement and a lesson timeline before lessons begin.
Wait until after your preliminary sessions to start pre-booking for a month of lessons.
What question do I ask when choosing classical piano lessons?

Which classical music composers are your favorites?
What is the typical age range of your students?
Do you offer a trial lesson, either for free or at a discounted rate?

How much practice should I be doing outside of our lessons?
What textbooks do I need, and what's their cost?
Do you give assignments or pieces to memorize after each lesson?
Can you adapt your teaching style based on the individual student's needs?
What should I bring with me to our lessons?
How many different piano genres and styles can you teach?
Can I get a written copy of our agreement and the payment terms?
What is your policy for cancelling a lesson?
Will I be able to choose some of my own favorite songs to learn?

Gabrielle is a patient, attentive, and caring instructor. She plays piano in a beautiful, expressive style that I hope to learn how to emulate. She has the kind of personality that helps motivate me to want to practice more and play better. And she takes the time to explain things (like music theory concepts) that don't always make sense to me at first.
She has been helping me improve both with classical music, newer music styles, and also how to play church music in a more flowing, modern way than it is written in (like playing hymns with rolling chords, which though I find intimidating-I'm improving!).
I have been very happy with her as a teacher for both myself and my children. As an adult student of hers who had two other piano teachers as a child, Gabrielle stands out as the best piano teacher, in every respect, that I have had.

Taking piano lessons from Patti is something I look forward to each week. I am committed to practice every day for an hour & a half. And although I will probably never play in Carnegie Hall, I will be able to play carols, oldies but goodies and in general enjoy the music! Patti is making it an enjoyable and attainable experience for me! I recommend taking lessons the way Patti teaches them whether you are young or older (like I am!).

Marina is a very gifted musician and has wonderful patience with her students. I'm so sorry she moved away but now resides in Arizona. That state is so fortunate to have her gifts and talents there to train others how to play the piano well
