Music lessons taught by experienced music teacher with MA in Music Education. 30 and 45 minute sessions in the comfort of your own home (currently online due to Covid). 2 performance recitals per year to build confidence and gain performance experience. Music theory incorporated into every lesson in a way that makes it interesting and fun. References available. Santa Clara and Santa Cruz Counties. Instrument repair also available on violins/guitars.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Find their passion. What styles they like. What are their goals. I get to know them so I can give them the best instruction for the direction they want to go.

MA music education. Performance experience. Teaching lessons for 20 + years.

$50 45 min 1 instrument or voice
$65 combo 1 hr lesson. 2 instruments or vocal + instrument
$40 students 5 and under - 30 min lesson
How did you get started teaching?
Taught a friends daughter years ago and discovered I was good at it! When I got laid off from the tech world, I took advantage of the opportunity to teach full time.
What types of students have you worked with?
All kinds. All ages - 3 to 78! All ethnicities. All socio-economic backgrounds. Music is a universal language!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The first ever Mock Music VIRTUAL recital in April was exciting to create and produce. See it at MusicalMock.com. We've done live recitals for years and they definitely have a more personal feel. Both have their pros & cons. Students get only one chance to perform for the live one. But they get multiple takes when they record video for the virtual production.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you connect with the instructor and are on the same page about what YOU want. Remember you are paying for a service.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Think about why they want to take lessons. See if that teacher can meet their needs.
