My sons main focus was wide receiver. Coach performed specific hand eye coordination, catching, route running drills. Over a year of training my son went from having a hard time catching a football to catching almost anything thrown his way greatly increasing his confidence. Your Baseball Training questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.com.

How much do private baseball lessons cost?

Private baseball lessons cost $50 to $75 per 30-minute lesson and $80 to $140 per 1-hour lesson. The price depends on your location, the instructor's experience and reputation, the student's age, and whether the lesson includes extras like a video analysis of the player's performance.

Many coaches offer lower prices per lesson if you purchase a package that includes 6 or 10 lessons. The average package prices are:

  • 6 pack of 30-minute lessons: $270 – $420
  • 6 pack of 1-hour lessons: $450 – $720
  • 10 pack of 30-minute lessons: $400 – $600
  • 10 pack of 1-hour lessons: $700 – $1,100

Are private baseball lessons worth it?

Private baseball lessons may be worth it if your child currently plays the sport, loves it, and has expressed an interest in improving their skills and performance. Private lessons can help your child advance their skills, develop good habits, and avoid forming bad habits.

Motivation and a drive to improve are key factors in whether or not the lessons will actually help your child. It's important for your child to practice in between private lessons.

Children who receive private baseball lessons are usually more likely to advance to playing at higher levels than children who only receive group coaching during regular team practice. However private lessons don't guarantee your child will play collegiate or professional baseball.

What is the difference between private and semi-private baseball lessons?

In a private baseball lesson, the athlete trains one-on-one with an instructor who tailors the lesson specifically to their needs and skill level. In a semi-private lesson, two athletes work together with one instructor. Semi-private lessons, also called partner lessons, typically cost 10% to 20% less than private lessons. However, because the trainer's attention is divided between the two athletes, the athletes don't get the same level of individualized instruction as they would in a private lesson.

What age should you start pitching lessons?

Baseball instructors generally recommend that children start pitching lessons at around 8 to 12 years old, though there are no age requirements or exact rules. Learning fundamental pitching skills early on can help your child avoid developing bad habits that will be difficult for them to break later.

However, your child should not start taking pitching lessons until they are comfortable throwing the ball as well as catching the ball one-handed.

Selena A.
We’ve had an incredible experience with this coach. My son has made more progress in a short time than I’ve seen in years—especially in his technique, confidence, and overall understanding of the game. What really stands out is how patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging he is with the players. He doesn’t just run drills—he teaches the “why” behind everything, which has made a huge difference in how my son approaches baseball. You can tell he truly cares about each player’s development, both on and off the field. My son looks forward to every practice and feels more confident every time he steps up to play. We’re very grateful for the time, dedication, and positive impact he’s had. Highly recommend to any parent looking to help their child grow and improve in baseball.

Coach Deep did a great job of working with my 9 year old on QB skills as well as general fitness training and good athlete discipline and habits. His correction to my son’s deep pass throwing mechanics definitely made a noticeable difference this season for our team resulting in more touchdowns and less interceptions. He has and teaches a great work ethic that goes beyond just the sport.

I hired Greg to do a personal in-home cooking class session for my two adult daughters: they made pho and spring rolls. Greg was very communicative via email before the class, and a pleasure to work with on class day. He is personable and knowledgeable, and we all learned new things!

He's good with instruction. Challenging and changes workouts and plans each week, building from the week before. He's extremely knowledgable on baseball and technique. Great with groups of kids or single lessons. Love working with him.
