As a retired professional artist, I enjoy teaching those who want to learn drawing and painting to create beautiful art. My approach to teaching art is classical - based on fundamentals, as they are essential for elevating art at any level. I have taught at high school, and college, as well as adult groups, but prefer working with students one-on-one, or in small groups of up to 4, enabling me to custom-tailor instruction for each artist, based on their abilities and interests. I love art and believe it is for everyone, at any age, on any level. I am currently teaching drawing and watercolor painting.

When I teach a private student I need to understand their personal goals and experience in learning to paint. It is important to learn the fundamentals of painting and build on those principles. Composition and Design, Values, Color Harmony, and sound drawing are some of these elements. it is important to note that these principles apply to every subject and all mediums. I believe that my service stands out because I have a desire for each student to build confidence and succeed as they develop their "skill set" in painting.
