Leila K. says, "Dr. Walterman completed changed my confidence and ability to think in a growth mindset for the better. She taught me the essential skill of believing in yourself and perseverance. Through her, I learned how to accept mistakes I’ve made, tackle continuous challenges with the viola, and love myself, the music, and the instrument all while doing so. When I wanted to quit, she was there for me to tell me “if you get better one percent each day, by next year, you’ll be 365% better.” A lesson like that will stick with me for the rest of my life. Dr. Walterman focuses on the technical aspects of playing, something I struggled with getting with other teachers. She always imparts advice on how to improve while congratulating the improvements already made. I couldn’t ask for a better viola instructor! Overall, I’m very happy to have her as my teacher." In 1984 I was in a bad car wreck. The resulting coma left me with a severely monotone voice for years. I worked with speech -therapists and later professional singers. I had nearly given up! I discovered David Way just before the pandemic, his education and experience were evident I was impressed with the way he evaluated my abilities and deficits. He spent time coming up with a plan. When we started working together I could only sing five notes; now I’m able to sing two octaves easily! His talent is impressive…

Cathy is a pleasure to work with. I came to Cathy with no singing experience. She always takes the time to answer my questions and to develop a lesson plan specific to my needs. During my time with her she has helped me to expand my vocal range and boost my confidence to perform in public. She even provided me with some CDs with vocal exercises and warmups. I’d definitely recommend Cathy!

Exceptional cello teacher! Ken is good with the traditional classical music but also lets our child explore other musical styles, even dabble a bit in music theory & composition. He is a patient and encouraging teacher. We are so grateful we have found Ken to teach, inspire our child in music & cello.

Nicolette was such a great instructor! She was always very knowledgeable and patient with me. I learned so much from her. The lessons were started off with warm-ups/breathing exercises. Then we would work on a song that we chose together. I would sing as she made notes on what I did and didn't do well and then we'd go over those notes. The lessons were always VERY constructive and she would always leave me with exercises to help me improve between our weekly lessons. 10/10
