Taylor S. says, "True all out baller. Not only does he know how to play ball extremely well, but he takes the time and effort to show other players his tricks of the trade off the field. He motivated myself along with others to still play baseball. When I was done with college ball, thought my career was over, Jesse helped me extend my baseball life. He showed my skills to scouts across the globe, I was playing in Europe 3 months later. All I can say, is that I’m truly grateful for having this man in my baseball life. " Read more

Tanya H. says, "My son loves how easy it is to talk to Josh and ask questions. I love that he's learning to pitch correctly so he doesn't hurt his arm and that Josh is really careful not to overwork his arm. He's also worked with my son on hitting, where he has made great improvement! Overall, he teaches us that there is always room to grow and adapt and my son loves his support in the process." Baseball instruction Hitting and Pitching: I play professional baseball for the Great Falls Voyagers and played college baseball for the University of Iowa and have 5 years of division one experience with 1 year professional. I’ve taught myself how to throw hard and got up to 98 MPH off the mound. I topped out at 87 MPH my senior year of high school and have gained 11 miles per hour over the last 7 years. Your Baseball Training questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.com.

How much do private baseball lessons cost?

Private baseball lessons cost $50 to $75 per 30-minute lesson and $80 to $140 per 1-hour lesson. The price depends on your location, the instructor's experience and reputation, the student's age, and whether the lesson includes extras like a video analysis of the player's performance.

Many coaches offer lower prices per lesson if you purchase a package that includes 6 or 10 lessons. The average package prices are:

  • 6 pack of 30-minute lessons: $270 – $420
  • 6 pack of 1-hour lessons: $450 – $720
  • 10 pack of 30-minute lessons: $400 – $600
  • 10 pack of 1-hour lessons: $700 – $1,100

Are private baseball lessons worth it?

Private baseball lessons may be worth it if your child currently plays the sport, loves it, and has expressed an interest in improving their skills and performance. Private lessons can help your child advance their skills, develop good habits, and avoid forming bad habits.

Motivation and a drive to improve are key factors in whether or not the lessons will actually help your child. It's important for your child to practice in between private lessons.

Children who receive private baseball lessons are usually more likely to advance to playing at higher levels than children who only receive group coaching during regular team practice. However private lessons don't guarantee your child will play collegiate or professional baseball.

What is the difference between private and semi-private baseball lessons?

In a private baseball lesson, the athlete trains one-on-one with an instructor who tailors the lesson specifically to their needs and skill level. In a semi-private lesson, two athletes work together with one instructor. Semi-private lessons, also called partner lessons, typically cost 10% to 20% less than private lessons. However, because the trainer's attention is divided between the two athletes, the athletes don't get the same level of individualized instruction as they would in a private lesson.

What age should you start pitching lessons?

Baseball instructors generally recommend that children start pitching lessons at around 8 to 12 years old, though there are no age requirements or exact rules. Learning fundamental pitching skills early on can help your child avoid developing bad habits that will be difficult for them to break later.

However, your child should not start taking pitching lessons until they are comfortable throwing the ball as well as catching the ball one-handed.

I have been trying to find someone to provide baseball lessons for my son for quite some time through this platform and Chris from turn 2 baseball was the first and only person to reach out to me regarding my inquiry from all the inquiries I’ve submitted for lessons. He has been doing an excellent job with my son. I have noticed a big improvement in his swing. My son enjoys the time he spends with Chris weekly and has been incorporating all his tips and suggestions. We’re glad we found someone who takes the time to listen, provide feedback for improvements and also encouragements to boost his confidence.

To whom it may concern, and reasons of correct fundamentals, my grandson really enjoys his lessons, and just recently we have started hitting lessons with Josh. Before the lessons with Josh my grandson would rarely get it out of the infield he improved his batting stance and his power within one lesson and now he is hitting it out of the infield every time. I strongly recommend Josh as a baseball coach to any age group to improve their baseball skills. He is very flexible with his availability and will work with you to accommodate a time slot that works best for you. In my eyes he is truly the best and most informative coach, and in my grandson's eyes also.
