She is able to work with multiple mediums and materials and she is both flexible in terms of meeting students where they are at and in terms of what they are interested in doing/producing while at the same time providing enough guidance and structure to ensure that students actually learn. She is also gifted at teaching all ages from children to teens to adults. Her style is creative, open, and caring but also serious and well grounded in years of artistic experience and training. Life Is Art In Motion And Vice Versa

The one thing I have learned about creative arts expression is that it is best when it captures the movement. One thing, the best thing I learned early on, is that life, and life expression is art and that is dynamic. Consider art in motion, like a really good action shot whether it be in sports or editorial or journalistic photography or illustration. Its moving both physically AND emotionally. It moves. And it moves you. I consider t2ge work I do a process of expression in relationship with Creativity in general-the process is bigger than myself. It's not all about an end goal or product but often includes a product. I find that when produc...

Hi there, I'm a mixed- media artist, based on Freestone, which is in West Sonoma. I have a BFA in printmaking from the San Francisco At institute, class of 2000. My process is to collage, (with images I've taken during the 35 years I spent living in SF and Oakland), weaving the photos into compositions which also include gestural painting, drawing and figure painting. I exhibit frequently in San Francisco, and am very excited to my next solo show, which opens Thursday, May 28.

Kay P. says, " Julie has a wonderful positive attitude towards all her students. She is always available to help with anything, even if a student forgets something. The studio is well stocked. She teaches broad concepts in all her lessons but also is available to give small pointers to solve particular artistic problems. One suggestion, is that Julie streamline her studio as I find it a bit intimidating to avoid bumping or knocking something in the studio. I enjoy her lessons and have learned many new techniques to improve my watercolor art. " Read more

The most unique aspect regarding what I do are the life casting & mold making components. I've been teaching life casting and mold making since 2009 in NYC SoHo, & in the Bay area since 2017. I teach drawing, painting, sculpture, collage & color theory as well and excel in guiding students towards finding their unique voice. It's exciting not only to share what I've learned with others, but being able to guide them into learning, growing, having fun and exploring in their own unique way is a complete joy!...

I started showing my work in 1990, in France where I come from. I created my Blissful Gallery in 2012 around my work, which is all about offering a virtual peaceful and joyful space to the viewer's mind to relax and expand. Watercolors (particularly miniatures) have been my thing for many years but today I also paint a lot of water mixable oil on canvas or on wood. Beside painting and owning a gallery I am also a coach in self-mastery and I offer creative workshops mixing art and coaching. In today's world we get often overwhelmed by jarring news and emotionally/energetically depleting daily lives so it is essential to have access to reliable...

I have been a professional artist for many years. I am a painter and printmaker and have taught students painting and printmaking at all levels from college, high school, middle and elementary schools, also adult and senior age students. I love to assist students in the exploration of their individual creativity while technical expertise is developed as the servant of the expressive goals. In watercolor, acrylic and egg tempera painting, a basic but essential foundation is established on which we build a solid technique that will It is especially rewarding to me to see the unfolding wonder that accompanies the student's acquisition of skills ...

Alfredo is a super mentor. He starts with basics but if you have experience he will go where you want. He works on a painting simultaneously with you. Color theory, Values, etc. Well worth it.
