Don Juan Diego
About
Hello, it is nice to meet you. And thanks for stopping by my profile. I am Don Juan Diego, Costa Rican, living in San Diego for three years. Even though I am perfecting my English, I can help you to perfect your Spanish. I can help you with your assignations with grammar, Spanish Tenses (the most difficult part), and speaking. My lessons won't be boring to tears, anyway! We will touch on the basics of Spanish Learning combined with daily and common situations and manage them with the hint of Latin American spice. Welcome onboard.
With me, you will learn the basics of Spanish conversations with the application of the real real world. Daily and common situations are the most fruitful to understand Spanish as it is, a language with many intonations, grammar, and expressions. You will progressively learn this with me.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
An initial assessment will be performed. No worries, it is not a test, it is just a conversation where you show me where you are. If you are already taking classes in high school or because you want to learn Spanish, we will use it as a reference. Once we agree on your language skills, we set our action plan.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am Costa Rican, born and raised. Spanish is my mother language. Fortunately, I learned English in my high school with English Speakers, they thought me the difficulties in learning my language. I know, for sure, how to start speaking Spanish. Let me help you!

How did you get started teaching?

By the way, I am not the Typical Profesor de Espanol...
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with teenagers to adults. Language is an ageless skill you can learn any time in life.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
You have to be honest with yourself and the direction you want to take. If you are taking Spanish lessons just to pass the grade, search on youtube, there is a lot of free content. Tell you by experience.
However, if you are looking for learning Spanish because you will travel, or you will manage Spanish Staff. Consider your instruction will:
1. Set your goals and you feel comfortable with them.
2. Lessons are tailored according to your skills and progression.
3. Stay away from slide-decks and books. They are important but the conversation is the most important.
4. Give you more personalized experience and attention
5. Schedule flexibility
