Jacie Zou is a recent graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Bachelor of Environmental Design in Architecture. Jacie’s work in Architecture and Music is shaped by an interest in sound, atmosphere and experience. With backgrounds in both disciplines, her teaching blends expressive storytelling and thoughtful musical experiences. Jacie aims to develop a strong foundation for learning music by focusing on technique, performance skills and musicality, while also emphasizing the importance of appreciating and enjoying music by nurturing creativity. I am an Emmy winning songwriter from my work with PBS, with a BILLION hits on YouTube for my songs. I am an accomplished instrumentalist as well, having released some dozen albums, and I play guitar, mandolin, fiddle, and tenor banjo. Gypsy jazz is one area I specialize in, but I also play Folk, Americana, Rock, Blues, Country and other styles. I also have a PhD in Writing, and I am the author of a number of books--children's literature, books on neuroscience, fiction, cartoons, and more. Established in 1985, Music Education Center is a renowned multimedia music studio in Broomfield, Colorado. For over 38 years, it has proudly served the community as North Denver's first multimedia studio. The center offers comprehensive music lessons in piano, guitar and percussion. Catering to both children and adults, the center provides private and group lessons and hosts special summer camps for children.
