I bring to my students a wealth of experiences from a very expansive background. My experience as a classical violinist includes the Denver Symphony (now the Colorado Symphony) as well as Concertmaster of the Colorado Ballet. When I was nine years old, my earliest fiddling experience was with Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys in Dallas, Texas. My championships include state as well as National Champion in my age division. Most of my fiddling early on was by ear so it was a natural path for me to embrace the Suzuki rote approach to violin teaching. I am an Emmy winning songwriter from my work with PBS, with a BILLION hits on YouTube for my songs. I am an accomplished instrumentalist as well, having released some dozen albums, and I play guitar, mandolin, fiddle, and tenor banjo. Gypsy jazz is one area I specialize in, but I also play Folk, Americana, Rock, Blues, Country and other styles. I also have a PhD in Writing, and I am the author of a number of books--children's literature, books on neuroscience, fiction, cartoons, and more. I enjoy seeing people learn new skills and progress to become the songwriter or musician they want to be....

I’m patient & knowledgeable. If you learn via sheet music, I provide all sheet music. If you prefer learning by ear, we can do that! We will move at your pace-whatever that is.
