About
I’m Ceci, from Venezuela. I came to Colorado in 2019 and have been teaching Spanish to adults since then. I’m also a bilingual Montessori teacher with 3+ years of experience so I’m used to work with people of all ages. I have a Philosophy degree and when I knew about Montessori and how special and individualized this method of education is, I started focusing my Spanish lessons for adults on a one-on-one basis and started designing each lesson depending on my student passions, skills and linguistic level.
This being said, I personalize my each according to individual needs and desires. Also, I’m a language learner. I have been studying Ancient Greek and Latin for 10+ years as well as English and French with reading purposes (I love Literature and Philosophy), so I know what it feels to learn a language and know really well a student path to success.
I’m eager to know more about my students and to teach my beautiful native language (Spanish) in this awesome state!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We will schedule a videoconference (with no cost) to get to know each other a little bit and I will ask the student for a descriptive list of his/her interests (sports, gastronomy, literature, arts, etc).
After that, I will research the subjects chosen and design the customized method based on specific documentaries/movies, books/magazines, specific music. Through those materials, we will dive into the Spanish language in both cultural and linguistic ways (such as grammar, vocabulary, syntax...) The knowledge of language's rules will be absorbed while we have fun together learning not just a language but the diversities of cultures that come with it.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
First of all, I studied classical and modern languages for five years focused on literature because that was the subject that made me want to learn other languages besides my own. I had a specific goal that enlightened my wishes of learning both classical and modern languages. That is how I understand students and I know that standard methods usually fail, because I am a student myself and have noticed that education is not a knife that can cut everyone's development in the exact same way.
Besides this, my Montessori training has been teaching me that there is a light inside us, called the inner teacher, which can increase or decrease depending on how we can learn following our own intuitions and passions. So, I would be a guide through the Spanish path to help you break the linguistic barriers and enjoy the wonderful trip of learning a new language.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of different ages. From kids about 8 years old to adults about 50 years old, so I have met a lot of different types. That is why, today, I need to get to know a little bit my students before beginning our classes.
