About
Ever since I was a young girl the Spanish lanugage and culture have spoken to me. I learned the basic grammar and vocabulary in school, but then over the years I have made friends from almost every spanish speaking country. Because of that, I speak more spanish than I do English everyday. While it is nice to have a native instructor, sometimes that can be difficult when it comes to grammar, because many natives don't understand the grammar rules, nor do they understand the difficulties of pronunciation as a Spanish learner. I would be able to give my students tips and exercises that helped me, as well as offer resources to talk to native speakers after their speaking, listening, reading, and writing has improved with me. I have never been an official tutor before, but teaching has always been a passion of mine and I would love to have the opportunity to combine not only my love for teaching, but also my fasination with the Spanish language and culture.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It would really depend on the student's level, but I think most students really struggle with the speaking part of languages. So typically I focus my exercises on reading out loud and converstation. I personally love grammar, because especially with a language like Spanish, it makes sense, it has rules that are easy to follow. That being said, I know it can be tricky without practice so we could also work through some grammar exercises throughout our sessions. However, through personal experience, I can say that the grammar will come, the speaking and listening are typically where people struggle most.
