About
I have been teaching theatre for several years and there is nothing more magical to me than when a moment *clicks* for a student and the scene or monologue just soars, especially when it comes to classical text. I hold my BFA in Acting and have also studied Shakespeare at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, The Shakespeare Theatre of NJ, and the British American Dramatic Academy. For the past two years I have been a working actress as well as being a resident artist at Shakesperience Productions where we toured and taught theatre to students grades K-12. I have also private coached several friends/colleagues for auditions (humble brag-everyone I've coached has gotten a callback at the very least) I am extremely passionate when it comes to Shakespeare and am happy to teach the basics to a beginner and expand or to help you brush up your skills. I would love to work with you in preparation for an audition, on scene work, or just as a general coach for both modern and classical! I can tailor my teaching to suit your wants and needs! I love to teach theatre and create a fun but also challenging environment.
I love when I can see a student sharing my passion about the work! It's not an easy profession. We have to be so vulnerable and put everything out in the open for anyone to see but the moment a student feels comfortable enough to share that in their scene work is so wonderful.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before I work with anyone I make sure we create an comfortable environment. Based on the age of my student this might involve a fun improv game or just a genuine conversation! Then I like to see what our baseline is. Either I'll have the student come with the monologue or scene they want to work on or I will provide something for us to to work on cold. We build from there and focus on the areas that need attention whether that is world building/specificity, character, text work, etc every student is starting at a different place and has different needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold my BFA in Acting from the University of Rhode Island (summa cum laude) and have trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and the British American Dramatic Academy in London as well as apprenticing at the Shakespeare Theatre of NJ and Shakespeare on the Sound.
