Music 4 The Future's Piano Studio

I've been playing the piano since I was 11 years old. I attended a music camp as a child and began getting frustrated as I was learning how to read music. I couldn't figure out how to read the music while playing, so I began playing by ear.  As I became older I still wanted to learn how to read music so I began teaching myself.  I discovered SightReading and immediately started to enjoy reading music again.   Later I started "Music 4 The Future" because I wanted to teach others how I learned how to read and play music so quickly.  I believe "Lessons + Fun = Success 4 Everyone." www.m4tfpianolessons.com ... I perfer at this point in my life of working with adults, but have worked with young people for 40 years.  I offer a range of learning from classical, jazz, pop and even some improvization.  I do require basic technique work for without a strong finger, arm, muscle memory development, one cannot truly play musically as they are held back without this technique development which in my studio is: scales, arpeggios, and chords and inversions.  Some exercises I've developed by my teachers from the past are used, also.  I ask 1/4 of the time you practice to be used in technique development, the rest preparing pieces. My teaching approach: I teach popular styles except classical, hiphop, ethnic and flamenco. Guitar playing is FUN. My teaching style is to find songs you want to play, and inject necessary concepts into the process of learning it. Includes music theory and technique. I use ear training, chord diagrams, tab, even standard notation. Bring songs or use my library. My background is in bands, in living rooms, and in the studio. So I can teach you to play by yourself, with others or in bands. My influences are: The British Invasion and folkies got me going in the last 60's - but I've been in bands since then, learning whatever was popular in each d ... View Profile
