I love the a-ha moments! So, in whatever I teach, the aim is to have as many of those moments as possible. Where there is light, there can be no darkness. :)
I've taught piano to every level, from pre-K to retired professors, for over 30 years. Plus, I've performed internationally for almost 40 years. Since 1985, due to my interest in preventing and stopping painful piano experiences, I've studied ergonomics, kinesiology, and physics in relation to piano technique. I even achieved 4 degrees in music! As a result, my teaching style stems from years of experience and research.

I've studied piano music at private conservatories and at the college level. I've been playing keyboard instruments for about 30 years.
My approach to piano instruction is partly one-on-one (classical), partly computer-based (digital), and genre-specific based on learner interests (individualized). Learners can expect to become increasingly musically literate and creative. From practicing with backing tracks, duets, and ensembles, MPS students learn to play with other musicians.
As musicians, MPS learners are encouraged to replicate the music of others and create music of their own.

David Cox Piano Studio can help you. This top rated person is a professional musician with many years of teaching experience. This known artist offers fun and effective piano lessons, composition and music theory programs, and more.
I teach students with the assumption that they can go as far as they want to go with their music. I believe strongly in teaching a broad understanding of music that enables a student to not only play songs they like, but write songs and perform songs as well. I emphasize playing by ear and playing with others. I feel the latter especially is vital to help students stick with it when they might feel like giving up.
I believe every student has the right not only to make music, but understand HOW it works, so they can experience music to the fullest! This is why I make music theory classes part of the curriculum for students over the age of 7, and add in historical stories about music, to help understand how it has shaped the music of today.
I have been teaching private violin & viola lessons in the Jacksonville area for the past 10 years. For beginners, I offer fun 30 minute lessons covering the basics of violin technique, ear training and note reading. I use the Suzuki method suplemented by americana/fiddle music as well as more traditional etudes and repertoire, as students become more advanced.
