I am a journalist by trade and have published articles in both english and spanish for publications such as Elle, Marieclaire, Cinepremiere and Latino Leaders for which I am also a director. I am taking a year off and am exited about going back to teaching languages, which I did when I lived in Mexico City. Whether you are a beguinner, want to hone your conversation skills, or need help for a business, advertising, marketing, diversity or corprate presentation I can make sure you use the right language when speking or writing to your audience. I have many interestes including art, cooking, travel, design... so there are a lot of every day topics to cover in a fun and etretaining way. I also have great experience tachign children of all ages.
Helping my students achive their goals! Learning a new language broadens the mind, and I love being a part of this exploration and making sure my lessons are an entertaining and efficient part of the process.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first part of the process is to have clarity about the student's needs. Are they more focused on conversation or reading and writing? Is there a specific area of interest they want to center on? Do they have a timeline by which they want to achive specific goals? Based on that we develop a plan together, so that the student knows what to expect, and is an active participant in thier process.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was born in Mexico City where I attended an American school so I have been 100% fluent in both English and Spanish since I was 8 years old. I also have ample experience as a translator and a 20 year career as a journalist in both languages. I have also worked as a private toutor for reading/writing and conversational skills, from basic to advanced levels.

Depending on the student's needs and itenerary - lessons are usually 45 to 60 and hour
What types of students have you worked with?
From children to seniors and everytging in bewteen.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The most inportant thing is to feel comfortable with your teacher, they should push you to do your best, but at the same time give you the confidece to make mistakes and try out new things. There is no advancing with out messing up from time to time, and providing a safe environment is key for real progress.
