Mariana is an excellent teacher! I had an intermediate level and wanted to apply for a position that required fluency in Spanish. I was very nervous but in three months I was ready for the interview and got the job! She not only helped me with the language but also gave me tips to position myself as a valued asset for my new company - highly recommend

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

The first part of the process is to have clarity about the student's needs. Are they more focused on conversation or reading and writing? Is there a specific area of interest they want to center on? Do they have a timeline by which they want to achive specific goals? Based on that we develop a plan together, so that the student knows what to expect, and is an active participant in thier process.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Even though I was born in Mexico City I attended an American school all my life, so I have been 100% fluent in both languages since I was 8 years old. I have lived in both Mexico and the US, so I am also very aware of the nuances, slang and differences between the American and Latin cultre. I also have over 8 years of experience translating and reaching languages, and 20 as a journalist in both languages.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Depending on the student's needs and itenerary - lessons are usually 35 to 60 and hour

What types of students have you worked with?

From children to seniors and everytging in bewteen.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Then most inportant thing is to feel comfortable with your teacher, they should push you to do your best, but at the same time give you the confidece to make mistakes and try out new things. There is no advancing with out messing up from time to time, and providing a safe environment is key for real progress.
