Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The typical process for Private Lessons includes the customer providing an idea of their needs or me assessing them with a series of drills and exercises to see where they at. Once I know their level weather it is 2 Left Feet or Professional Level then I can create a plan to execute. Once the plan is set, we work for 50 min sessions followed by a Video with what we covered and homework to take home. Group Lessons are more casual and individuals come to the Studio and dance with others.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My training includes 14+ years. My speciality is Latin Dancing but my training includes Ballroom, Tango, Ballet, Modern, Contemporary and more. Aside from Workshops, and Classes, I've had the opportunity to get Coaching 1 on 1 with some of the Best in the Business. Lastly, my experience performing all over the World & Teaching, as well as Producing Events add the next level that helps me pass the torch to those that want to learn.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing varies depending on the goals of the individual as well as the Timeframe or the type of Service they want. Examples would be individuals that want to simply learn to dance for fun, vs individuals with a Wedding Dance, or Competition. However, pricing varies from $55 - $1000 for Private Coaching or from $10 - $100 for Group Lessons.
How did you get started teaching?
I've always wanted to Dance but I finally pushed myself when I found myself with a Girlfriend that Danced and I didn't so I got tired of holding a drink and watching her and took my first class. After that, it little by little became my passion, then a Hobby, then Part Time, and then I made the decision to train to be an instructor. Never imagined I would be an Artist and travel the world or anything like that. Its crazy!
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with People from all over the world, all ages, and all races and even performed on stage with Celebrities at Live Concerts and Music Videos. Majority of my clients are regular every day individuals.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My most recent great experience was my own Festival that I've produced for the past 8 years The Unity of Dance Festival. I get the opportunity of hiring Artists from all over the World and I get to collaborate with them on stage in other to make our audience have a great time & be inspired.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My biggest advice to students are to keep pushing as hard as you can as you will reach limits that you never knew existed. Every single person can learn to dance and even perform on stage, the question is how much work are you willing to put in.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The biggest questions are the following. What is your immediate goal? What is your long term goal? What is your experience so far? Which dances are you looking to learn? Why do you want to dance?
