About

Hey guys! My name is Rick Stewart and I’m a member of the PGA of America. I’ve taught this great game of golf full time the last 7 years being a Director of Instruction and it’s my joy to see golfers of all ages improve their game! After competing briefly on the Asian PGA in Tour in ‘09 I turned my attention to teaching. I’ve taught all over the world and have conducted and assisted in golf teaching seminars in Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, Argentina and various states in the US!

The last 5 years I was the Director of Instruction for Topgolf at their Allen, TX and Orlando, FL locations. I’m now teaching full time at Metrowest Golf Club and really enjoy helping students achieve their golfing goals.

He recognizes my faults and weaknesses and shows me hands on how to fix them. Doesnt overwhelm with information. Sees the problem, shows you how to correct it. Do the homework and you see results, simple. He also shows he cares about you improving.

Rick is very knowledgeable. I discussed my concerns and goals and just on my 2nd visit I have improved out on the course. Golf has many facets and Rick can address each of them. He shows interest in helping me achieve my goals, Im very pleased and grateful to be working with him.

I started having lessons with rick back in September with a handicap of 28. We started with some lessons at top golf learning how to hold the club correctly and also watching videos of my swing and the things I was doing wrong.
I had 1 lesson a week for 3 months. Rick talked me through a new set of clubs that would suit my swing. My swing was getting better and the ball strikes we’re getting better and the ball was actually going where I wanted it to go.
I’m now playing off a handicap of 16.9 and now see rick when I feel I need to work on something. Rick is very genuine and honest and once I had drilled my swing down he advised that I would only need lessons once a month or so to work on new techniques. I found it very refreshing that he advised me not to have more lessons and just play as much golf as I can. You know you have a great coach when they are advising you not to keep paying out for lessons every week and just to have a lesson when you feel you need to work on something.
Last week I had my club fitting done and have received my new clubs and wow what a difference it makes. Rick talked me through the process and recommended someone for me to see. We then had a lesson to work out distancing with the new clubs which was really helpful.
Now I feel more confident striking the ball and know that my handicap will start to come down even more. Rick has also invited me to play in a pro am with him which was a great experience.
I have nothing but respect for rick. He is an amazing coach and I can’t thank him enough for the time and dedication he had given to my game. First class coach and I would not hesitate to refer people to him.
    Thanks rick.

I have know Rick for about 2 years now, originally the lessons started with my daughter; who now has an extreme love for golf. I saw how much she has improved and now find myself taking lessons to keep up with her low score.
He is very personable and takes the extra time to share his knowledge on how you can improve versus how he would change your level. All the goals are realistic and achievable as long as you practice the information and skills that he shares with you.
Looking forward to many more lessons!!

Rick is awesome. He makes everything easy to understand, and lessons are a blast. My swing and consistency improved dramatically after the first of three lessons, and even more so after the second and third.

Nothing but 5 stars for Rick. I started working with Rick as a 12 handicap. Today I’m a 4 and consistently shoot in the 70’s. Golf was always fun but now it’s even more enjoyable posting low numbers. Rick will help you improve every aspect of the game.

    Frequently asked questions

Usually with with a new student I'll ask them their previous background in golf. I'll also ask what other sports they play to give me an idea of their athletic background. Then, I'll ask them what their golfing goals are and we go from there!

I have worked with kids as young as 2 years old to students in their 80's. I've worked with mini-tour players, scratch handicappers trying to get that extra edge and to total beginners wanting to learn the basics. I've helped students with special needs and students with learning disabilities. Definitely a wide range of students :)

My advice to the student is to find a coach you can gel with. Someone that can explain the most complex terms in the simplest ways. A coach can know all the things about the golf swing but if he doesn't know how to explain it...than all that knowledge does't mean anything to you! Lastly, the saying "People don't care how much you know unless they know how much you care." Find a coach that cares about your golfing goals and will help you get there...and most importantly have fun along the way!
