Hi, my name is Katherin.
I'm here to reveal to you the secret of how I learned English in just 3 months. Just like me, it will take you years to be fluent in a language. But, you will no longer have that problem learning a language. And you will see how beneficial it can be to speak another language.
I love learning languages because behind each culture, there are different, very interesting ways of living. I am passionate about people who are different from me and can teach me something.
I am not the typical teacher who is going to send you work or homework and that's it. The theme is to have a conversation with my students to learn from each other. If you have questions I will always be open to being asked questions. I am going to give you effective and didactic materials that will really help you learn in a simpler way.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I was in school I hated the ENGLISH class, because the teacher was super boring and always taught me grammar.
But the reality is that in real life, even if you know the grammar rules and if you don't know how to communicate. It's no use!
The best way to learn is like children. You don't teach a child to read and write. And then you teach him to talk, right?
I have found that the best way to learn any language is through the conversational method and the most important thing is persistence on the part of the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a self-taught person. I love knowledge, and I love learning new things on a daily basis. I am a person in favor of thinking that a Degree is not needed to achieve dreams. Knowledge is at our fingertips and nowadays, with the ease of the internet.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
We all learn in different ways.
And there are different teaching methods, as well as learning.
1. Auditory Learning: If it is much easier for you to learn through what comes to you through the ear, everything you receive in your classes or what others explain to you will be very useful. You can take advantage of this facility by attending conferences or talks, watching documentary videos on topics that interest you ... you will see how you learn much more than if you limit yourself to your books and notes.
2. Visual Learning: It occurs in people who have much more facility to learn through what their eyes see. If the teacher's explanations are not enough for you to understand the lesson and you need to examine the matter with your own eyes, that is, you need drawings or diagrams to retain the information, it means that you have the so-called "photographic memory" and that your learning is visual.
3. Tactile Learning: If you have this type of learning, theoretical explanations are of little use to you and you need to be taught by practicing the given theory. You will understand better what an addition and a subtraction consist of if they help you with objects: pencils, boxes ... In chemistry you will prefer to put into practice the formulas that they explain to you.
4. Kinetic Learning: If you explain things by gesturing a lot and moving from here to there as if you were performing a play, your learning is kinesthetic and you have a great facility for body language. Your retention can be helped by visiting museums, going to the theater ...
In this way, I recommend that students identify how it is easier for them to learn. So that their learning is effective and they can find a tutor who can help them in the appropriate way, based on their needs. In my case, my way of learning is auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic. And that way I apply it so that the classes are much more didactic.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Well, when you are starting to learn a language it is important to open your mind to knowledge and to think like children. Ask for everything! What is this? How is this called? What is the meaning? Why?
It is always important to explore different sources and be curious. Watch videos, listen to music, read and speak with native speakers of the language. This will help you learn and improve on a daily basis.
