About
Hola! I have over 15 years of teaching experience. I put special focus on my student's strengths and reasons for learning. I ensure that students feel comfortable and motivated to learn the language.
What makes my class stand out is the work we do; the students and I in developing an "ear" for Spanish. We develop this skill through practice, consistency and more practice.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I work with a new student, I explain first what the class is about and then I proceed to send him/her a link with a Google Docs page. I create a page for every student. On this page, I write the plan for each class; the first phrases we will be using to communicate in Spanish and the topics we will be covering. I will modify the page according to each student's goals and expectations. I might recommend to use a workbook to beginners for practice after lessons. I also prepare a lot of activities on Docs. The amount of exercises, packages and videos I provide will depend on the student's time and availability. The activities are fun not overwhelming.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have always loved languages, that is why I got a degree in French and English from the University Mayor de Cundinamarca in Bogotá Colombia. I also studied at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I majored in Psychology and French culture. I have experienced first hand what it is to learn a second and third language.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I do have a standard pricing for each hour-lesson I teach and I am happy to offer a discount for multiple sessions. In general, I charge $40 per class online. When I travel to student's homes, I charge $55.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching little kids in my early 20's when I was in college. Then, I continued on to teach highschoolers at a Montessory school. At the moment, I teach mostly adults.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages and enjoy those students who ask lots of questions and are motivated to learn. My job is to keep them motivated to want to learn even more.
