I am a Georgia certified English teacher who works primarily with students whose first language is Spanish. I am studying to become Georgia certified in teaching Spanish to fulfill my goal of becoming a high school Spanish teacher. In the meantime, I fuel my passion for the Spanish language, practicing the craft by giving lessons.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The new student takes a series of short and easy placement tests to determine his/her true level of knowledge for the language.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am certified by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission to teach English to secondary level (grades 6-12) students. I also have ESOL teacher certification. I am preparing to take the Spanish teacher certification exam.

How did you get started teaching?
I have wanted to be a teacher my entire life. I attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and received a Bachelor's of Science degree in English Education.
What types of students have you worked with?
In my teaching career, I have worked with students as young as Kindergarten level to students in their mid 30s, teaching the required state standards of English and Spanish.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Have an open mind and let go of your doubt. You'll surprise yourself!
