About
Learning to play the piano, or mastering any skill, requires perseverance, practice, and the desire to succeed. It is very similar to going on a journey. Initially, the road may be easy as you push forward toward your destination. Eventually, if you travel far and long enough, there will be hills to climb, deep curves, twists, and turns to navigate and sometimes you may just run out of gas. Yet, if you are serious about reaching your goal, you push through these roadblocks. Playing the piano is not an easy endeavor. It requires commitment of time and effort. Beautifully, in accordance with Universal Law, it is one of those things in which your end-product accurately reflects your investment. Even the simplest piece, requires time and effort. I want each student to make that commitment and to enjoy the journey along the way.
When I see my students perform in concert playing Bach, Beethoven, and the boys it is wonderful knowing the students’ love for music shines through. They can read notes and switch easily to jazz, popular, or other genres of music. What a joy it is to go to work each day doing what I love, teaching piano!
