Gosia L. says, "I reach out to Coach Gil just a few weeks ago. My son is 14 years old and plays travel baseball. He is a great player but found himself in the middle of some kind of weird moment where no matter how hard he would try he couldn’t hit. I was looking not only for someone who can help him with hitting but also with the mental aspect of this sport. It took literally two lessons for my son to gain his confidence back, clear his mind and start hitting again. The way Coach Gil talks to young people about sportsmanship, confidence, leadership and his incredible knowledge of baseball can only get your player to success! We will continue our lessons with Coach Gill for as long as possible because my son mental growth, confidence and motivation has never been more impressive!" Read more

PLEASE EMAIL OR TEXT DIRECTLY! (This site is glitchy and sometimes leads are not forwarded) Thank you! [email protected] or 773-850-4036 I have been training ballplayers ever since I finished playing professionally in 2015. I take passion in making practice fun and I pride myself in teaching by example. I always emphasize the meaning of being a student-athlete, which means you are a STUDENT before you are an athlete. My favorite part of my profession is receiving texts/calls from parents & students telling me that they hit their first homerun or that they made their high school baseball team for the first time! We are here to take your skills to the next level. Whether it's building champions or teaching first timers, we will meet you where you are at, along with the tools to take you all the way. I have been playing baseball since I was old enough to sign up for t-ball. In high school I was first-team all-state as a pitcher/shortstop with a .585 batting average, zero strikeouts, and I led the league in home runs and RBIs. Pitching I was 7-0 my senior year, never throwing over 85mph, purely location conrol and pitch selection. In college I played for Linfield University D3 in Portland, Oregon 2007-2011. I've coached all ages from 5yo up to high scho

As a former collegiate and professional baseball player my experiences drove me to share my love for not only baseball but learning, growing and developing. I have been instructing since 2013 and I recently ended my playing career where I then served as a volunteer assistant coach at New Mexico State University. While there, I was responsible for the development of the hitters and infielders. My opportunity at NMSU led me to work with one of the top collegiate bats in the country who ended up being a top 10 pick in the 2020 MLB amateur player draft and opened the door to me working with a handful of MLB players as well as top collegiate playe...

Your Baseball Training questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.com.

How much do private baseball lessons cost?

Private baseball lessons cost $50 to $75 per 30-minute lesson and $80 to $140 per 1-hour lesson. The price depends on your location, the instructor's experience and reputation, the student's age, and whether the lesson includes extras like a video analysis of the player's performance.

Many coaches offer lower prices per lesson if you purchase a package that includes 6 or 10 lessons. The average package prices are:

  • 6 pack of 30-minute lessons: $270 – $420
  • 6 pack of 1-hour lessons: $450 – $720
  • 10 pack of 30-minute lessons: $400 – $600
  • 10 pack of 1-hour lessons: $700 – $1,100

Are private baseball lessons worth it?

Private baseball lessons may be worth it if your child currently plays the sport, loves it, and has expressed an interest in improving their skills and performance. Private lessons can help your child advance their skills, develop good habits, and avoid forming bad habits.

Motivation and a drive to improve are key factors in whether or not the lessons will actually help your child. It's important for your child to practice in between private lessons.

Children who receive private baseball lessons are usually more likely to advance to playing at higher levels than children who only receive group coaching during regular team practice. However private lessons don't guarantee your child will play collegiate or professional baseball.

What is the difference between private and semi-private baseball lessons?

In a private baseball lesson, the athlete trains one-on-one with an instructor who tailors the lesson specifically to their needs and skill level. In a semi-private lesson, two athletes work together with one instructor. Semi-private lessons, also called partner lessons, typically cost 10% to 20% less than private lessons. However, because the trainer's attention is divided between the two athletes, the athletes don't get the same level of individualized instruction as they would in a private lesson.

What age should you start pitching lessons?

Baseball instructors generally recommend that children start pitching lessons at around 8 to 12 years old, though there are no age requirements or exact rules. Learning fundamental pitching skills early on can help your child avoid developing bad habits that will be difficult for them to break later.

However, your child should not start taking pitching lessons until they are comfortable throwing the ball as well as catching the ball one-handed.

Coach Vega has been an amazing coach for my twin 7-year-olds since early spring while preparing them for the upcoming baseball season. He truly understands the limitations and attention span of kids this age and never frustrates them by pushing skills they’re not ready for yet. Instead, he keeps practices fun, changes things up often, and jokes around with the kids to keep them engaged and excited to learn. My kids absolutely love going to training with him and always leave smiling. At the same time, their hitting and catching skills have improved significantly in just a short amount of time. Coach Vega creates a positive environment where kids can build confidence while still learning the fundamentals of the game. We’re very grateful for all of his hard work and patience, and we’re looking forward to continuing training with him!
