If you haven't heard of the Second City, I would suggest that you look them up. They specialize in using realistic acting to portray comedy. My work has always centered around realism and I was very comforted to see this principle being taught at an internationally-renowned comedy Institution. Realism is my strength. I offer personalized individual sessions and small group lessons tailored to the needs of the students. I teach adults, ages 18 and up, and my students range from college-level, working adults and retired individuals. Students embrace life-long learning and focus on the fundamentals of drawing and painting. The courses I offer range from beginning drawing, color theory, figure drawing, oil painting and watercolor. I tailor my curriculum to the individual technical and conceptual needs of each student that I work with during a given instructional cycle. I think it is critical to immediately expose a student to the importance of the work being created by artists, designers, writers and hybrid creatives who are producing now. From 1999-2005, I was part of the Chicago Children’s Choir. During that time I was also Cantoring for Our Lady Mother of the Church and playing violin with the church ensemble. In 2004, I began participating in the DePaul Musical Theater program which led me to be accepted in the Chicago Opera Theater Apprenticeship in 2006. After two years in the program, I was the Assistant Stage Manager and had worked on several shows including ‘Into the Woods’.
