With 30 years of teaching experience and 25 years as a PGA Professional, Lundy uses his passion, expertise and energy to provide a memorable experience for the hundreds of junior golfers who annually attend the Gongaware Junior Academy. His dedication to teaching has earned him the honor of receiving the Junior Leader Award, an Indiana PGA Special Award recognition, twice in his career – first in 1991 and again in 2006.
In addition to the Indiana Section awards, Lundy’s efforts have also been recognized by U.S. Kids Golf who named him to the 2008 Top 50 MASTER Kids Teacher list. That was the inaugural year for the Master category of the award, but it was Lundy’s fourth consecutive recognition from U.S. Kids Golf. He was named to the Top 50 Kids Instructors roster from 2005-2007, which qualified him for the Masters honor.
Lundy’s current Academy program in housed at The Indiana Golf Office in Franklin, Ind., where he works to promote life skills and game improvement techniques to campers in a supportive and fun environment. When not instructing or having fun, all of Lundy’s seven supporting counselors who reside in the dormitory for the duration of camps are readily available to advise and assist campers in need.
Another program Lundy directs at the Academy is PGA’s Get Golf Ready program which is designed to teach the basics of the game in five short lessons. Everything a player would need to know to step onto a golf course and get out to play with confidence is taught, all while stressing the importance of also having fun.
