I am a young, highly motivated Golf Professional who uses technology, like Flightscope, FocusBand, and K-Vest, to deliver a fun, encouraging, and informative lesson. I focus on diagnosing the causes of the swing issues to treat the effects. I don't believe in "quick fixes" and "band-aids," I truly want my athletes to get better the right way. I want my athletes to leave lessons with a better understanding of the game to help them self-diagnose on the course!  ... View Profile

Finding the Right Golf Instructor in Indianapolis
The first question most golf students ask is, “How do I find a good golf instructor?” This is a common question that we often find ourselves asking because we simply want the best.

Start with the professional
This is an obvious effort that if you want to learn golf, you learn it from the pro. And it’s just not limited to golf. Every lesson learned needs to be delivered by someone expert. So what kind of pro can a golf teacher be? Well, at the least he has to have PGA certification. The PGA requires an individual to understand golf instruction plus be able to demonstrate it – the method, techniques and if they are qualified in the membership. A good instructor also takes seminars and lessons to improve his golfing skill. You can visit lessons.com to find an instructor in Indianapolis with PGA certification.

Always find the nearest location
Why? Because you won’t find any excuse not to go to golf lessons. This exercise is fun but if it takes hours to reach the course, then you will probably skip it. While you may be compromising the quality of a golf instructor, you need to make sure that your teacher is just a few blocks away from home. You can input your Indianapolis ZIP code on lessons.com and find instructors nearby.

Good reputation
Just like finding a business partner, you would want a partner who can be trusted, has a good reputation and is proficient in their field. It goes the same way with a golf course. You might want to find a good instructor with a reputation for demonstrating the skills. Always interview your teacher before you start the course. It’s a good thing if you can find someone in Indianapolis so you can just approach and meet them in person and quickly determine if it’s the teacher you want.

Committed instructor
While the knowledge has to be good, an instructor has to have an interesting personality. You will interact with him most of the time during the course. You need someone who wants to see you improve and feels excited about your course. He needs to have respect for you and always give you tips and tricks to learn golf better. A good personality will make the lesson session fun and you won’t feel pressured.

Name the price
Sometimes people tend to pay a high price because they believe the more expensive the course, the better it is. The truth is, you can find affordable instructors by looking at an online directory like lessons.com. You can name the price and a list of instructors’ names will show up. As simple as that.

One step at a time
As you are a beginner, you don’t need to learn too many details as this is the first time you have held a golf club. It means, you don’t need a teacher who shows you how to do this and that without knowing that you still need to learn page 1. A knowledgeable instructor knows when to give you ‘that’ lesson when it’s time.
