As a parent you want your child to THRIVE in life. But how do you do that? We have found the answer! The formula to a thriving child is to help them find what they love (their spark), support them in developing that spark (feed the flame) with the help of spark champions (like our amazing teachers and YOU), and give them opportunities to show off what they've learned, illuminating the world! This is a researched and proven approach applied to our excellent arts education program. Why the arts? Great question! It has been found that most children and teen's sparks tend to be in the area of the arts. Plus, creativity is a top ask from employers now. We at The Spark Spot are a special breed. We each come to work ready to push kids but also to be silly and laugh a ton. We know kids respond more to learning disguised as fun and we take that to the nth power! The best part about this is that spark that lights up a child head to toe when one of our lessons ignites something inside that little mind.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We offer classes for both those who are just discovering what they love and those who want to progress in a particular genre. Come try us out for one class and we will introduce you to our programs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our instructors are well educated, highly qualified individuals who have worked professionally in their field or have a degree in that area.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Our rates depend on the level and exclusivity of the lesson. Discovery Group classes start at $65-75 a month per person, our Progressional Program starts at $80 a month, and private lessons start at $75 an hour.
How did you get started teaching?

What types of students have you worked with?
We specialize in students ranging from 2 years to 18 years.
We have all worked with students in all age ranges. We also have many skilled teachers who have worked with children with special needs (we see these kids as having extra super powers and love to see them shine).
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
When looking for a teacher, please keep in mind how the student learns. Does he or she have a tendency to be shy, then your teacher that is very outgoing may not be the best fit. Someone with lots of experience not just in their genre but also in working with kids is important. So many people provide teachers with no youth development or education experience and the kids suffer.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
