I love working with people to improve their technique and watching them learn and understand how our unique instrument works. I love that I learn new things from my students every day and we get to explore and discover their individual voices together.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
See if you can talk to any of their students or listen to some of the more progressed students sing. Does the teacher still sing? Do you like their singing - even if it isn't in the genre or style you would like to learn? Does the teacher ONLY have one way of teaching, or do they feel like they can adapt to different learning styles and techniques/
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What kind of music does the teacher like to listen to? Who are their favorite singers within the genre of music you would like to sing? What are the different qualities of singing that YOU like and does this teacher appreciate those different styles and can they teach you how to do them without damaging your voice.
