About
I can teach a variety of musical instruments (piano, voice, violin) and concepts, and help students make connections in their learning. I can help break down concepts for students in their instruments or in music theory, and can help them understand why music sounds the way it does, or why a certain sound that they want to attain works the way it does.
I have a bachelors in music (voice and violin), a masters from New England Conservatory in voice, and experience teaching music theory and keyboard at the Conservatory. I can improvise on the piano and other instruments, play by ear, sight read, and luckily have perfect pitch so that online lessons are possible :)
I love when students have a breakthrough in technique or in knowledge. When a student can hear something by ear and connect it to something they are learning, or when they start asking "why" or "how" questions, I know it is the begninning of their lifelong musical enjoyment, and that makes me very happy!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would look for a teacher that is interested in your progress and is flexible in their teaching style and work with you! Someone that is passionate in what they do, and efficient during lessons while still bringing enjoyment to them.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I would say students should think about why they would like to take lessons in a given field, what their short and long term goals are, and how the teacher can help them accomplish these goals.
