About
My teaching career spans 35 years. I have trained players that are complete beginners to PGA professionals... Men and women, from juniors to seniors, right handed to left handed.
Some of my junior students have been interested competition... They have played on the PGA Jr. Tour, the US Kids Tour, the AJGA Tour and various high school golf teams. One of my players qualified for the US Kids World Championships held in Pine Hurst. As the Player Development Coach for the Manchester Essex high school golf team I am proud to say the team won 3 league titles and finished 6th in a field 15 for the State Tournament. Some of my aspiring professional have past their Players Ability Test to qualify for PGA membership. Adult players have competed and won their club championship.
For the past 16 years I have enhanced my training by utilizing high tech computer aided training systems which have been a boom to gaining proficiency in a short time... Launch Monitors, High Speed Video and Golf Simulators... These systems have helped players shorten their learning time with great results.
Many years ago I was told I needed "Tempo"... This put me on a path to find a method to capture this elusive entity... Luckily, I did find a way to harness this elusive entity, and you can find it in my book... "TEMPO...Heartbeat of the Golf Swing"... You will get copy with your first lesson or you can pick one on your own from Amazon.com books.
Whether beginner or professional, I will analyze your current situation, give you in simple terms, what you need to advance your golf skills. You will need to do some practice but you knew that... It won't be difficult. Working with me in conjunction with the computer aided training systems will spark your growth in the game and you'll have more fun on the course

How did you get started teaching?
1988 had an injury three bones moved in my neck pinched a nerve and limited the use of my left hand. After 2 years of therapy my Doctor advised it take up golf to build up my left arm. For a year I hit 600 golf balls everyday 5 days a week. I finally started putting the ball where I wanted it. I then changed careers and worked in at vairous golf courses, and became members of multiple golf leagues. Started teaching relatives, friends and associates, they all improved and suggested that I start teaching. In 1992 I became a teaching professional and continue to teach to this date.
What types of students have you worked with?
I am currently working one on one with Adult and Juinor High School students. I pride myself in working with juniors and especially those on golf teams, high shcool to college. As wel as beginners. Some players have used golf as entry to college one student received a $25,000 scholarship to NYU another is the #4 college player on the Middlebury Golf Team another gained Professional status as a member of the PGA. I have trained many #1 players on their respective high school golf teams. I have worked as the Player Development Coach for the Manchester/Essex High School Golf Team. My expertise includes training PGA Professionals as well as single digit players trying to shave off the last few strokes toward Stratch. I've worked with Beginner players, desiring an introduction to the game as well a Intermediate players desiring to lift their game to a higher level. I've helped senior men and women to improve their game.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One student, Ben, 9 years old shot 72 to par the course and win the USKids Boston Tour Players Championship, a two day event marked by rain both days. Ben was tied the first day with 5 players shoothing 37...the second day he fell coming off a hill right into a huge puddle and was drenched, cold and shervering, and he still was able to mount a charge to shoot 35 and win the championship by 5 strokes...Ben was a teachers delight!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Golf is a roller coaster ride at best, there will be ups and downs and all arounds, but in order to enjoy it each player must have and even minded approach, not to get too high on the good shots and not to get too low on the not so good shots, but notice I said "good" and "not so good" every shot is good in golf just some more "gooder" then others...just realize that golf is a game, you cannot win or lose, you can only play the game. Remember golf is a game for a lifetime, you have the rest of your life to learn, practice, play, meet people in all your travels... There will never be a dull moment being involved in golf.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Are you willing to let go of all the things you have read or what friends have told you?
Are you open minded to accept new information?
Are you willing to practice?
Are you willing to get out of your comfort zone?
Are you able to be persistant with something that may seen difficult on the road to achieving your golfing goals?
