I had both of my children take weekly lessons from Angela for about nine years. Angela broke down piano lessons into logical segments that did not overwhelm my kids, yet had them improve from week to week. She had high expectations for their progress and had a firm understanding of their capabilities. She was able to capitalize on their natural talents, while identifying the areas where they would get stuck. She taught them the technical aspects of music, while recognizing that kids need extra encouragement to develop self-discipline and technique. Beyond the lessons, she understood my kids as people. I always told my friends and relatives that whenever I had an issue with either of my kids, my first phone call was to Angela to get her advice. In all honesty, Angela has spent dozens, if not hundreds, of hours on the phone with me over the past ten years helping me through whatever issue one of my kids was dealing with in their personal life. She was able to pick up the subtle nuances of their personalities during lessons and help me to apply it to their everyday lives. Angela has been a huge part of my kids upbringing both during and outside lessons, and I cannot recommend her enough!
