About

With 35 years of playing experience and over 20 years of teaching experience, we provide the best golf instruction in Northern Virginia. Using all of the modern teaching technologies, we leave nothing to chance.

In addition, Belmont Country Club has the Premier Practice Fcailities, with grass teaching area, 3 short game target greens with shots up 90 yards.

I love seeing people get better and enjoy the game more. I love helping junior golfers discover the fun of the game and the thrills of competition.

Frequently asked questions

I first try to understand the student's goals. From there, I set up a game plan to help him/her achieve those goals.

I have trained under some of the best instructors and researchers in golf. I have been trained in nearly all of the modern teaching technologies such as Trackman, Flightscope, various 3D systems and all video technologies. As a tour professional I worked closely with peak performance experts. I have also studied the swing of every great golfer to understand how his/her individual swing works.

I prefer to do sessions of 1 hour or more. Less time than that is not enough for a person to fully understand what is needed to improve. My hourly rate is $140, but I can build packages of lessons that reflect a student's desires and needs.

I work with essentially anyone who wants to learn the game. Golf is beautiful because everyone can find some enjoyment from it.

I have the great opportunity to work side by side with one of the best coaches in the game: Mitchell Spearman. Assisting him as he worked with tour professionals was a geeat learning experience, experience that I have taken and applied to my work with my students. As a result, I have had a good bit of success developing junior golfers over the past 15 years. Many of my students have earned NCAA scholarships and some are now on the path of turning pro.

Have fun looking at stuff on line but when it comes down to it, get a proper lesson. Unfortunately golf can be a difficult game but I tend to agree with what Ben Hogan said: anyone with normal ability can break 80 with proper instruction and practice. I also agree with what Jack Nicklaus' coach (Jack Grout): developing the proper fundamentals needs consistent practice and can take up to 5 years. Proper instruction can help accelerate the process.

Also, don't trust swing methods. Find someone with experience and ask questions during a lesson.

How and why. Those are the big ones.
