My name is Preston Braswell and I have a passion for golf and the science behind the golf swing. I am an experienced golfer playing four years with Emmanuel College (NCAA II). Most recently, I won the Norfolk City Amateur by four shots shooting rounds of 64-70. I am also a coach at the FirstTee of Hampton Roads. I have a passion for helping students find their golf swing, manage their game, and excel to their "next level" in golf.

Teach pure swing fundamentals. 0ne piece take away, setting club early in take away, sound tempo into pure ball striking. Want better distance & accuracy? Short game "up & down" skills, bunker splash-out and putting break down. How would you like to improve? ⛳️🙂

We believe the number one goal in golf is to have fun!  Our instruction is catered towards the fundamentals of the game, as we believe that the best golfers in the world focus the majority of their energy on those fundamentals.  If the best players in the world are keeping it simple, we should too! Our first step is to develop an understanding of ball flight laws.  Once someone understands these basic laws, they can develop a feel for the shot they are trying to create.  From there, we can adjust the player's technique as needed and work on developing other fundamentals. Ben Hogan famously said, "The secret is in the dirt, ... View Profile

PGA Professional Golf Lessons

In 2004 I passed my Player Ability Test for the PGA of America qualifying me as an assistant professional. Since then I have taught many students in all aspects of the game of golf. I have references from players whose games have improved considerably under my instruction. The game of golf is a passion for many of us and I understand everyone's desire to become a better player. I believe every player is different and do NOT subscribe to the notion that every student should be taught the same. Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses and deserves instruction tailored specifically to them. I also work on the Mental aspect of the game, t ... View Profile

Virginia Beach Private Golf Lessons
The First Tee programs across the US score as some of the best nationwide. Their non-traditional philosophy of teaching the child as a whole has set them apart from their competitors. There programs are geared to youth development; they simply utilize the game of golf as their medium to teach our youth extraordinary life lessons through their Nine Core Values approach. Developing Social Skills

The Nine Core Values program focuses on lessons that will help develop social skills and self-confidence in students. Along with those lessons, they will learn about such core values as integrity, honesty, and sportsmanship, responsibility, respect, confidence, judgment, perseverance and courtesy. By learning the etiquette of golf while developing their social skills, junior golfers benefit from character-building as well as taking away live lessons that will serve them well in their daily lives as young adults. Additional benefits to these lessons include academic improvement and a new found appreciation and respect for diversity.

The First Tee has been successful in providing safe places with quality youth programs and excellent role models through quality instructors. One of The First Tee’s recent additions to their list of programs includes their collaboration with the Annika Foundation in creating The Nine Habits – a comprehensive program that focuses on the physical, social and emotional development of each student.

The First Tee teams up with YMCA
